Is this video worth $30M?

Made for only $300, this 5 minute video resulted in a $30M contract for the film maker.  Bravo.

My Favorite Things: Gateway NV7802U

Being a technologist, I’ve become really good and justifying gadget purchases.  Recently I was in the market for a[nother] new laptop.  This one needed to be more than just your average email & web browsing device, able to handle video editing, software development and virtual machine images (i.e., running multiple virtual PCs on top of it).  And because I spend a lot of time on the road, I wanted it to be relatively light but pack a lot of features while looking really good (sounds like me, doesn’t it?  Yeah, I hear ya.).  And, I wanted to stay in the $500 range.

My baby is growing up too fast! :(

Phoebe was the one that was to stay a baby for, oh, 18 years!  But no, she’s decided that her siblings are having too much fun without her.  So she’s trying to walk, stay up late and steal any electronics remote or game controller she can find.

What’s a smitten daddy to do?

I love my kids; the time we have with them close is far too short.  I’ve never complained about changing diapers, getting up at night or even Zachary cutting the wires to my stereo system (but I did cry over that one).

I’m a lucky dad.
